Dwight M. Bullard, State Senator
State Senator Dwight M. Bullard has roots in education, community activism, and legislation. A Miami Killian Sr. High graduate, Senator Bullard studied at the #HBCU, Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in History Education. From 2000 to 2017, Senator Bullard taught at Coral Reef Senior High School. In 2008 he became a Representative of District 118 and was reelected subsequently. In 2012, Bullard became a Florida Senator and served until 2016. During this tenure, he was Vice Chair of the Transportation and Agriculture committees and served on several other committees.
Dawn Y. Glass, PharmD, RPh
Dawn Y. Glass is a tenured 16-year clinical pharmacist currently working at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree both from the #HBCU, Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. Dawn has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. since 2004 where she was initiated into the Gamma Theta Omega chapter in Tampa, Florida.
Lateef J. Battle
Lateef J. Battle is a 1993 graduate of the #HBCU, Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. While at Hampton University, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Airway Science and met his wife, Belinda Gordon-Battle (#HBCULOVE). Lateef and Belinda are both active members of the South Florida Hampton University Alumni Association. They are also strong advocates for HBCUs. Currently, Lateef is a Federal Express Airline Pilot on the 767 jet airliner. He is an active member of Pi Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Lateef volunteers with the local youth of Miami. He serves local schools and community programs as a mentor and speaker where he discusses topics related to aerospace.
Stephen Hunter Johnson, Esq.
Stephen Hunter Johnson is a shareholder with the law firm Lydecker Diaz. He is a graduate of the #HBCU, Coppin State University, in Baltimore, Maryland. Stephen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science while at Coppin. He then attended the University of Miami School of Law where he earned his law degree with honors in 2003. Outside of shareholding, Stephen serves as Secretary of the Coppin State University Development Foundation which provides funds for scholarships to his alma mater.
Anthony “Tony” Rogers, Esq.
Anthony “Tony” Rogers is a native of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Tony attended the #HBCU, Bethune-Cookman College (now Bethune-Cookman University). He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977. Following undergraduate school, Tony attended The Ohio State University to study demographics and then received his Juris Doctor degree from The Moritz College of Law. Tony has been in the financial services industry for 29 years as a licensed attorney, registered securities principal, and investment advisor representative.
Nelson Adams, MD
Dr. Nelson Adams is a physician, President of the National Medical Association, and founder of the Access Health Solutions, LLC. Dr. Adams was born in Miami, Florida where he attended Miami Jackson Senior High School and received a Silver Knight Award nomination. After graduating in 1970, Dr. Adams attended and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the #HBCU, Howard University. Adams graduated with his MD from the #HBCU, Meharry Medical College. Currently, Dr. Adams practices as an obstetrician & gynecologist in North Miami.
Reverend Theo Johnson, Th.M.
Reverend Theo Johnson is the Senior Pastor of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. He is a native of Dallas, Texas and has served in ministry since June of 1999. Pastor Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the #HBCU, Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. He also earned a Master of Theology degree in Pastoral Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. Currently, Pastor Johnson is pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership Development and Organization Dynamics from United Theological Seminary.
